About

The person behind the practice.

I'm Langston A. Powell. My work is rooted in narrative therapy — a framework that centers your experiences, your voice, and your capacity to make meaning out of what you've been through. I don't come into our sessions with a predetermined map. I come with curiosity, care, and a genuine belief that you are the expert on your own life.

I work with teens, young adults, and adults — meeting each person where they are, without judgment. Each person I work with brings something different to the room, and I take that seriously. I received my B.A. in Psychology from UNCG and a Master of Social Work from the Joint Program at UNCG and North Carolina A&T State University. I am certified as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist.

During my career, I have worked extensively with a diverse range of individuals facing complex challenges. My experience includes providing comprehensive individual, couples and group therapy for a diverse range of individuals. As a Clinician at an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital I supported clients navigating acute psychological and behavioral health needs across a wide spectrum of presentations and my clinical work at Fellowship Hall Recovery Center deepened my expertise in addiction treatment, helping individuals and families untangle the deep-rooted ties between substance use, trauma, and identity.

Curiosity over judgment.

I approach every person and every story with genuine curiosity — no script, no checklist.

Your pace, your terms.

Therapy should never feel like something happening to you. I follow your lead.
